Building and empowering a network of women journalists

The aim of the project is to create and empower a women’s network that will:
Allow other new platforms and initiatives to join the network in the future.
Empowering women through trainings and awareness-building activities on gender-sensitive issues and women’s rights
Publication of media products (videos, reports, press stories, and photos) for women working in various platforms.
Contributes to providing job opportunities for women who have received previous training in creating media content.
Project results
50 women attended a 10-day workshop on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, with a focus on the Syrian context.
30 women, 10 from each platform present, attended a 10-day training on launching and managing social media advocacy campaigns. These women will be tasked with coordinating the design and implementation of advocacy activities on their platforms. Examples of activities can be hashtags, posters, polls, videos, interactive posts, surveys, etc.
Published 80 visual media content. Including video reports and animated videos.
Published 40 written articles (reports, articles, press stories)
Create two periodical magazines.
One website has been created.”
The added value of the project:
A media-enabled women network consisting of 11 regions of Syria. We underwent several trainings and communicated with each other.
