Successful Conclusion of DAR Organization’s Online Parliamentary Workshop Enhances Syrian Participants’ Skills and Understanding

DAR Organization concluded its parliamentary briefing workshop held online as part of the Agora project. The workshop aimed to create a cadre of Syrians who are capable and willing to engage in parliamentary work by enhancing their understanding of parliamentary functions and developing their skills related to legislation and government oversight.
The workshop deepened participants’ understanding of political pluralism and its mechanisms, allowing them to form parties with different political ideologies and adopt various perspectives on important issues in Syria. It also enhanced their knowledge of the parliament’s importance and its core functions, which include representation, legislation, and oversight of government performance.
Participants were provided with normative tools for critical reading of proposed laws and tools for government oversight and assessing trust if necessary. The workshop was distinguished by the excellent engagement of participants, evident through their high level of interaction, creative ideas, enthusiasm, and commitment.
