Parliamentary Simulation Activity: Enhancing Legislative Skills and Inclusive Political Participation
DAR Organization, within the Agora Project, implemented a parliamentary simulation activity as a practical application of specialized training on parliamentary procedures and legislative mechanisms. A multi-phase approach was adopted to ensure a comprehensive experience for participants. The process began with virtual theoretical training, followed by digital discussion sessions to clarify concepts and exchange perspectives, and concluded with in-person rehearsals simulating real parliamentary sessions.
The parliamentary simulation included the participation of 32 deputies, more than 40% of whom were women, reflecting the project’s commitment to promoting balanced representation in political life. The sessions were distinguished by ministerial summons, where deputies directly questioned the government on critical issues, offering them a real experience of parliamentary accountability mechanisms. The sessions also included deputies with special needs, reinforcing the activity’s inclusive political approach and highlighting the importance of involving all segments of society in the democratic process.
Approximately 30 attendees observed the sessions, reflecting widespread interest in this experience and its significance in enhancing effective political participation. The simulation provided participants with an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, contributing to the development of their parliamentary skills and decision-making capabilities within an inclusive and participatory environment.
